BRADENTON — With a $282 grant, third-grade teacher Amanda Hirst will be able to bring science to life for her students at Freedom Elementary School by purchasing an AIMS Education Foundation science and math kit.
“It makes science so much more fun for the kids,” Hirst said.
Hirst was one of 222 Manatee County School District teachers awarded a grant Wednesday during the Manatee Education Foundation’s 2014-15 Ready for School Rally, held in the auditorium at Bayshore High School. The foundation is a nonprofit organization that aims to help students and teachers in the Manatee County district.
